Current Projects | Major Building Projects | Civil Works Oropune Housing Project
The project involves the Design, Finance and Construction of two hundred and eighty-eight (288) three-bedroom Four Storey Apartment units, and two hundred and eighty-four (284) three-bedroom Duplex/Townhouses and its associated Infrastructural Works on approximately 19.7 hectares of flat land at the Housing Development Corporation’s (HDC) Oropune Housing Development at Oropune, north of the Boulevard. The Units' design strategy is to maintain a simple layout and provide a structure of robust elements incorporating the use of lightweight Aluminium Formwork to effectively form the concrete for the walls and suspended floor slab of each unit thus ensuring "a house a day" is produced. The foundations consist of a post-tensioned slab system which proves to be a more efficient and economical design. Multi Storey Apartment Units The walls are constructed with reinforced concrete and finished with emulsion paint. The Roof is constructed from an all steel frame and coloured sheeting. The shower stall is tiled with 150mm x 150mm glazed ceramic wall tiles. The floor finish in all general areas is power float with 150mm x 150mm non-skid ceramic tiles to the shower stall. The Ceiling is 600mm x 600mm Acoustic Tiles Suspended Ceiling. The windows are metal framed casement/awnings. The kitchen is fitted with low-level kitchen Cupboards. The unit is fitted with all associated Plumbing and Electrical fittings and fixtures.
