Cleaver Heights Housing Development
Cleaver 1 | This project is a joint venture
initiative between the Trinidad & Tobago Housing Development
Corporation (formerly NHA) and NH International (Caribbean) Ltd. It
involves the development of approximately 25 hectares of land, nestled
in the foothills of the Northern Range at Cleaver Heights, Arima. Upon
completion, the site would contain a total of 408 housing units. In
keeping with the HDC's vision of creating communities, the site would
entail 257 townhouse units, 74 duplex units and 77 single family units
with designated community areas for future development.
To
date, 17 hectares of the site have been grubbed and cleared for
construction. Site offices have been constructed, and the majority of
the roads on the site have been cut providing construction access to
the entire site. At present infrastructure works are being undertaken
with sub-structure / super-structure works to begin shortly.
We
are also carrying out temporary and permanent storm water containment
to prevent site storm water run-off to neighboring residents to the
eastern side of the site.
The
method of construction of the units on this site entails the use of
lightweight aluminium formwork to efficiently form the concrete for the
walls of each unit. The foundations would consist of a post-tensioned
slab system which proves to be a more efficient design for the lay of
the land.
NHIC
understands the need for environment preservation and as such, over 30%
of the entire site which consists on forest would be preserved. This
would result in economical, quality homes, being surrounded by a
natural environment.
