NHIC - FIFTH TIME AWARD WINNER OF THE TTCA CONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD - 2009
NH International (Caribbean) Limited has won the prestigious TTCA Contractor of the Year Award in Building and Construction for the HDC-Oropune Housing Development Project. This announcement was made at the TTCA’s Gala Awards Ceremony at the Trinidad Hilton on Saturday 14th, November 2009. NHIC previously won this award four times in the past seven years.
This award-winning project involved the design, development, finance and construction of 572 housing units that were completed in 125 weeks on time and within budget. In August, Phase I and II consisting of 220 units were handed over at a nationally televised ceremony, whereby HDC officials lavished praise and commended NHIC for its management and execution of this “remarkable” project. The housing recipients viewed the model duplexes and apartments, and were pleased with the high quality of workmanship, and were comforted by the fact that the units were designed in reinforced concrete to earthquake and hurricane codes.
NHIC expects to hand over Phase III and IV within the early part of 2010.
NH International (Caribbean) Limited welcomed the opportunity yet again to partner with the HDC to design and construct affordable housing for the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
